KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN’S PRIDE 360° SHOWS ITS SCHOOL SPIRIT

HBCU Homecoming Sponsorship Offers Fans the Ultimate Tailgate Party
LOUISVILLE, KY – Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) announced today that it will sponsor the homecomings of two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to further connect fans with its Pride 360° program. KFC’s Pride 360°, in its second year, is a community program focusing on inspiring African Americans to acknowledge and uphold the four pillars of family, community, individuality and heritage.
The HBCU homecoming sponsorship is the newest community initiative on KFC’s Pride 360° plate. With this sponsorship, KFC’s Pride 360° urges fans to show off their school spirit with the “Show Your Pride Promotion” and KFC Pride 360° homecoming tailgate experience.
“Our goal with the KFC Pride 360° HBCU Homecoming program is to connect with our African-American consumer with an event that focuses on pride and the community,” said Jermaine A. Higgins, impact marketing manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken and Tennessee State alumnus. “This program allows us to become more involved in communities and schools and contribute to the positive energy surrounding homecoming.”
The KFC Pride 360° HBCU Homecoming program will feature a KFC Pride 360° homecoming tailgate reception attended by well-known Southern deejay and HBCU alumnus DJ Drama. All fans are invited to attend the ultimate tailgate party that will feature giveaways and interactive games in addition to DJ Drama spinning. Fans also will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with DJ Drama.
Fans can also win VIP access to a meet and greet with DJ Drama by submitting a photo to the pride360hbcu.kfc.com Web site that displays how they show their pride and celebrate the pillars of Pride 360°, family, community, individuality and heritage.
One grand prize winner will receive four tickets to the homecoming game, concert, step show and VIP meet and greet with DJ Drama. Additionally, 23 first prize winners will receive two tickets to the VIP meet and greet with DJ Drama.
The KFC Pride 360° Homecoming program will visit Norfolk State’s homecoming against Florida A&M University in Norfolk, Va. Saturday, Oct. 25 and Tennessee State’s homecoming against Tennessee Tech in Nashville, Tenn. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Fans have until Oct. 13 to submit photos for Norfolk State’s homecoming and Oct. 20 to submit photos for Tennessee State’s homecoming.
KFC Pride 360° is taking a comprehensive approach to support HBCU schools by working with the business schools to schedule KFC representatives to speak to students about entering the corporate world. At the Tennessee State homecoming game, KFC Pride 360° will cater a booster tent at the game and make a donation to the Tennessee State alumni events organization.
Other KFC Pride 360° initiatives include: KFC celebrates and honors Black History Month, BET Icon Awards, Ultimate Family Reunion and ‘Hitmaker’ song contest.
