UNCLE SAM EXTENDS TAX DEADLINE; COLONEL MAKES APRIL 17TH A LITTLE LESS "TAXING"

KFC Feeds Last Minute Tax Filers and Postal Workers on Unique Tax Day

LOUISVILLE, KY - With April 15 falling on a Saturday this year, Uncle Sam has extended Tax Day, making Monday, April 17, one of the busiest days of the year in post offices across the country. To provide a little Tax Day relief, KFC will feed Crispy KFC Snackers™ to the "fried" postal workers and "taxed" patrons at what authorities believe will be one of America's busiest Tax Day post offices - downtown Chicago's West Harrison location.

Beginning at Noon (EST) Monday, April 17, a Colonel Sanders look-alike will pass out Crispy KFC Snacker sandwiches to last minute tax filers dropping off their forms. The "Colonel" will also feed KFC Original Recipe® Chicken to postal workers postmarking those filings.

"KFC is always trying to make things "less taxing" by offering great meals at a value, such as the $0.99 Snacker," says Scott Bergren, executive vice president of marketing for KFC. "Tax Day often IS known as one of the most stressful days of the year and KFC will be providing some much needed relief and sustenance to postal workers and post office patrons."

In the last year, KFC has sold nearly 300 million value-priced Snackers, which are available in Crispy, Honey BBQ and Buffalo - the newest addition to the product line.
